Introducing NZGeo Photo

What separates a good image from a great image? At New Zealand Geographic we've always felt it was the opportunity for a second-reading—the moment at which something unusual reaches out of the frame and forces the viewer to reconsider the image. It can be something unexpected—like the pattern of a bird's wing in a multiple exposure—or something that shocks or charms us into a new way of thinking.

This new monthly email will celebrate the best photography—past, present and future—bring you wise words from the best photographers, and highlight the best gear available to capture images that can really move a viewer.

The stories will be hosted on the new NZGeo Photo channel, check it out at www.nzgeo.com/photo
