Two species of kiwi have had their endangered status lowered on the IUCN Red List because their recovery projects have been such a success. Rowi and North Island brown kiwi have been changed from 'endangered' to 'vulnerable'.
It's thanks to the efforts of Operation Nest Egg, and this is how they did it.
