Why wasn't I told?

Long before Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King, Jr, there was a great leader of peaceful resistance in Taranaki: Te Whiti. He led the people of Parihaka in non-violent protest against the illegal confiscation of their land. 

This morning, the Crown apologised for atrocities committed when government troops invaded and sacked the pacifist village in 1881. This is the story of what happened.
