Reader expeditions
New Zealand Geographic and Heritage Expeditions have partnered to offer exclusive voyages featuring guest experts and additional activities. Here are the upcoming trips.
To distant shores
New Zealand Geographic and Heritage Expeditions invite readers to experience some of New Zealand’s most remote southern shores. Departing on March 1 2024, the eight-day itinerary combines three amazing destinations - Stewart Island, Fiordland and The Snares - into one voyage, with ex-director general of DoC and renowned conservationist Lou Sanson joining as our special onboard guest.
Experience the 'Galapagos of the Southern Ocean'
Heritage Expeditions organised New Zealand's first commercial expedition to the Subantarctic Islands in 1989. Over 100 expeditions later, 'Galapagos of the Southern Ocean' has become one of its signature voyages and now New Zealand Geographic and Heritage Expeditions are inviting readers to join a special expedition from 30th December 2023 - 10th January 2024.
Southern comfort
New Zealand Geographic and Heritage Expeditions invite readers to experience the rawness, beauty and abundant wildlife of Stewart Island/Rakiura - 'the land of glowing skies' - and Ulva Island/Te Wharawhara in October, on an exclusive eight-day expedition with a yet-to-be-announced New Zealand Geographic expert sharing their knowledge.
