Trending Now: How to shoot 'on trend' and monetise your work

The rise of smartphone photography and affordable gear means there are more people making images than ever, and more competition for photographic work. How do you stand out? And how can you find more opportunities to earn a living from your craft?

New Zealand Geographic is proud to present Jacqueline Bourke, London-based global manager of visual insights at Getty Images, for a special session to highlight six visual trends defining communications, advertising and design in 2017. They are based on an analysis of millions of searches across Getty Images and iStock sites, coupled with developing themes in technology, society, art and popular culture.

Jacqueline will also share ways in which you can join Getty Images and iStock as a contributing photographer, opening up opportunities for your work to be seen and licensed on the global scale.
