A couple of days ago an Aucklander was hit with a huge clean up job after a neighbour flushed nappies and wet wipes down the toilet, clogging the pipes. 

The resulting mess has led Watercare to send out reminders to people about what the pipes can handle. 

Watercare asset protection manager of trade waste, Peter Rogers tells us what not to to flush and also some of the horrifying things contractors have found over the years: including grass clippings, pigs’ heads, dead puppies and concrete!
