Wellington shaken on eve of Kaikoura quake

Wellingtonians were shaken awake on Sunday night by a a 4.8 magnitude earthquake which struck at 11.28pm and was centred 30km west of the city. The quake, which many heard coming before they felt it, hit just a day short of the one year anniversary of the 2016 Kaikoura quake which killed two in the South Island town and critically damaged buildings in the capital’s inner city. GNS seismologist Anna Kaiser joins us to discuss the event.
