Tiwai Point agrees to drop electricity usage as hydro lakes low

New Zealand’s biggest energy consumer has agreed to reduce usage as the hydro lakes reach their lowest levels in 25 years.

The aluminium smelter at Tiwai Point is cutting down how much power it uses for a month to secure supply for the country.
