Thousands of protected species seized at NZ border

From shells and corals to elephant feet, primate skulls and chopped up sea horses, more than 9-thousand protected species were seized at the New Zealand border last year – a 300 percent increase since 2011. According to the United Nations profit made from the global illegal wildlife trade rivals that of human trafficking, drugs and weapons at around 8-10 billion dollars a year. And this country is being told it needs to do more to push back against the business. Emma Hatton reports.
