The case for a global ban on single-use plastic

Single-use plastics are convenient and often improve hygiene. But it’s estimated 79 percent of all plastic ever made is now in a dump or a landfill, just 9 percent has been recycled.

 

In an article on The Conversation, environmental lawyer Anastasia Telesetsky argues there is a solution. A legally binding phase-out of single-use plastics. This ban would have to be global to work.
