The volunteer organisation Know Your Stuff heads out to gigs, festivals and events around the country trying to reduce harm by checking what’s in their pills and powders.
The free service, supported by the NZ Drug Foundation, collects a lot of data – from deciding which drugs are particularly strong each year, to figuring out just how many people are being hoodwinked.
Dr Jez Weston is an expert in the science behind the testing. He tells Simon Morton that the organisation began when party pills were being sold as something else.
