NZ lacks adequate knowledge on climate change

A climate scientist says New Zealand lacks adequate knowledge about climate change and how rising sea temperatures will affect trading partners in the Indo-Pacific region. Maritime and Defence Force personnel met in Wellington yesterday to discuss the challenges and security of the ocean in the decades ahead. One of the speakers – Professor Dave Frame from Victoria University’s Climate Change Research Institute – says the Indo-Pacific ocean is warming at a faster rate than other oceans. He told RNZ reporter Jonathan Mitchell that puts New Zealand in a vulnerable position.
