MPI hopes $1m fine slapped on fishing company sends message

The Ministry for Primary Industries hopes a fine given to a fishing company in Napier sends a clear message to others thinking of flouting the law. Hawkes Bay Seafoods, along with its directors Nino and Joe D’Esposito and general manager Marcus D’Esposito, were fined just over a million dollars for 131 charges breaches of the Fisheries Act.
