James Dale: backyard birdwatching

During lockdown some of us baked bread and stared at the wall, but Professor James Dale from Massey University had a different idea. He started setting up Gopro cameras in his backyard in strategic points to see what birdlife he could capture.

Well, it was a hit and post-lockdown James has been trying to find new ways to shoot the native birdlife in our backyards.

Following on from our discussion last week of Tui song, we thought we’d have a look at their behaviour too. James is calling in from the Red Beach Surf Club campsite in Mangawhai to discuss his digital approach to nepotism.
