Central Interceptor, the largest tunnel in New Zealand

The largest tunnel in the country is being built under Auckland. The Central Interceptor is being constructed in a bid to stop wastewater going to waterways and instead being diverted through the new tunnel to the Mangere treatment plant. Watercare’s man in charge of the 1.2 billion dollar project, Shayne Cunis joins Jesse in the studio to explain what’s happening below ground.
