Antarctica scales back science missions due to Covid-19

New Zealand’s presence in Antarctica this summer will be around a quarter of the size it usually is due to Covid-19. It doesn’t mean science projects will stop, but they’ll be more concentrated and nearer to Scott Base. Antarctica New Zealand’s chief scientific advisor John Cottle told producer Jeremy Parkinson how the plan for down-sizing their mission to the world’s only covid-19-free continent was coming together.
