Annual Garden Bird Survey takes off around NZ

This weekend New Zealanders with an eagle eye took to their gardens for the Annual Garden Bird Survey. Running this week until the third of July, this citizen science project asks locals to spend an hour spotting birds and report their findings to Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research. The organisation uses the data to assess bird population across the country and monitor individual species. Dr Angela Brandt, an Ecologist and Modeller at Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research, speaks to Corin Dann.
