‘A lot we can support’ in fishing review – Sanford

The government is proposing an overhaul of the way the New Zealand fishing industry is managed. It’s suggested changes like removing minimum size limits and forcing fishermen to bring everything they catch back to port – rather than throw it overboard. While the Labour Party called for an independent review of the quota management system before it was in Government, the Minister for Fisheries Stuart Nash says it’s not necessary. Sanford is the largest quota-holder in New Zealand and its Chief Operating Officer Clement Chia talks to Susie Ferguson.
